Ben Affleck will begin shooting Batman vs Superman this summer

Ben Affleck Batman

It’s great to be able to learn of little snippets here and there as Batman vs Superman production will be ramping up soon, following an official statement from Warner Bros it was pushed back to the 2nd quarter of this year (and a contradictory report from Deadline it already has started.)

Whether or not production has begun, we can all rest assured on two things: No. 1 is Ben Affleck IS still Batman (despite some of the most false and ridiculous rumors to the contrary) and No. 2 is he will begin shooting for his Batman role this summer.

Ben’s wife, Jennifer Garner, stopped by Detroit Sports 105.1 FM to talk about her new movie with Kevin Costner, Draft Day, but offered a little bit of info on when Ben will begin shooting.  There is no embed of the interview available. I’ll be [in Detroit] this summer. Yep. All summer. [Ben] is filming [here.]  Batman is shooting… or whatever it’s called. I don’t know what it’s called.  Superman with Batman. Whatever it is.  But, he is shooting this summer.

Don’t worry, Jennifer.  We don’t know what this movie is called, either!

Henry Cavill is already in Detroit, and sounds like he will be there for around 10 months. Gal Gadot has said she will begin filming in May. With the delayed start up for production, the timeline seems to be flushing out for a 3rd quarter 2014 wrap in Detroit. (Maybe… I’m guessing based on the how long the sound stages were booked.)

The unofficially titled Superman/ Batman movie from Director Zack Snyder stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/ Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and an appearance by Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/ Wonder Woman. The movie opens May 6, 2016. Distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
