Dawn of Justice reunites with WETA Digital
Weta Digital confirms they are to provide VFX for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
With Man of Steel, the VFX were often spectacular, taking special note of the Krypton scenes and the incredible views of the planet and its creatures. Weta was responsible for those final looks, including Jor-El’s warkite, H’raka, the dragonfly looking beast. Weta will again be reunited with director Zack Snyder in post-production, bringing their award-winning talent to the superhero team-up movie.
In an interview with Collider, they made the confirmation, but they couldn’t say anything more at this time.
Finally, since Weta worked on Man of Steel (they’re the company responsible for the visual effects during the opening Krypton sequence), Steve asked the duo if they’re also working on the follow-up. The two confirmed as much, but were understandably tight-lipped:
“We are working on the Man of Steel sequel, yes… We can’t say much more than that, but we’re excited.”
With a number of DC Comics characters poised to appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Weta no doubt has some spectacular sequences in the pipeline.
